Thedhekey Thedhekey completes music video trilogy

Maldivian singer Aishath Naseera makes a comeback today, with the music video Thedhekey Thedhekey, which premiered on TVM's Heyyambo. Written by Ahmed Naseer with original music composition and performance by Ahmed Nashid of Zero Degree Atoll, the music video was gifted by Naseera to Manfaa, an NGO working for the interests of the aged.

Thedhekey Thedhekey is also the unintended conclusion of a trilogy of public service announcement music videos produced by Club Hulhevi. Heyva Heyva, the first of the trilogy, sung by Zoona, was a maternal mortality awareness spot that became a phenomenal musical hit in 2002. Three years later, Vehey Iru Fen Nagashe, sung by Unoosha, brought to young audiences the 'libaas-levvun' ritual, or the robing of girls upon attaining puberty. And now, three years later, Club Hulhevi has completed the trilogy with Thedhekey Thedhekey.

All three songs were shot on location in remote island communities and starred a host of non-actors. While the first two focussed on old customs, Thedhekey Thedhekey follows a group of elderly people living out their active lives in the beautiful island of Fiori, in Gaaf Dhaal Atoll.

All three songs can be viewed on YouTube by typing their titles in the video search.

I'm sorry to say that the song is really bad. The video is worse. These organizations have not enough funds to make a proper one? Could have use a better Camera man. Editing is very bad. Even the old Hindhee movies are much better. There is no life in this. We the old don't want this. Get this crap off. No offense to anyone personally. But we deserve better. Thanks for trying. Wish you all the best next life.

the song is absolutely sweet! very catchy indeed. the video showing the beauty of old love, I like it! and btw, the last few statements on the first comment, it is pretty obvious there is proper anger, jealousy, yes you could always comment and advice, but goals to be achieved in another life? nobody could agree. lovely song again!

The song is awesome...one of the best ever...atleast the majority of us think so. The singer has such an unique voice that it's difficult not to get completely taken away. Personally, this is one of the best songs that came out and the view was simply breath taking. It's very original. The singer has outdone herself with another maldivian-ish song, her first song was awesome and so is the second one!! The song rocks!!

Beautiful! Its amazing how you manage to catch the natural facial expressions.. considering they are not real actors... i guess a lot of time must have been spent on catching these looks as they happen! very sweet. And how cool are the women rowing their boat! Very inspirational. Its very nice to see island life portrayed like this.. I like the way the women giggle like kids, the man enjoys a 'bombay tea' on the fishing boat.. etc.. these are all so simple things, yet the way you showed them makes me happy, just to be reminded of the little nice things that comprise of daily life in some islands...

All 3 songs are just great... havent seen better videos produced in Maldives.. Veheyiru is one of my favourites.. really touching .. sweet, innocent, lost childhood is portrayed so beautifully in that!
Looking forward to more! If
