Rough cut of video ready for viewing

I'm pleased to announce that a rough edit of the footage filmed on both sides of the Himalaya is now ready for viewing. Visitors and friends who have supported and followed our journey and are currently in Male can contact either Muha or me to arrange a viewing.

Please note we're unable to lend copies to people, as we're still discussing whether the footage merits being edited into a proper documentary.

Also, people who want to post comments will now find it easier to do so as they won't have to register. I'm still new to blogging, so I only just discovered how to change that particular setting.

In the meantime, many thanks for everyone's support.

the close-ups in question were a present for shaaxu and, of course, hilath...but how does sharif explain the lovingly-filmed male in his own documentary on internally displaced persons which i saw yesterday? luckily, there was an adoringly-filmed female too so that might efface suspscion about tendencies...these ambiguities notwithstanding you and ibu have done another good job, hope u didn't have to use the belt too often...

shaaxu, hilath slept through the video too, so i don't know i guess it doesn't hold the power over audiences that i was hoping it would...

I think the reason why I dozed off during filming of me and during Al's Himalayan video was that both were quite soothing experiences. That's positive, huh?

Al,

It ain't gonna happen. Nope, not at all - even if a miracle happens... well, I'll bend if ONE miracle happens! Then, maybe, just maybe, "my heart will go on"!

Shaaxu, make up your mind! From the comments you posted here, it is obvious you are a closeted Titanic lover.

And so is Martin! I would say that if a person demonstrates overtly Titanic-phobic antics, he or she must secretly like Titanic, but have too many insecurities to admit it! ha ha ha!

By the way, Al, your Himalaya rough cut DVD is already making waves among my friends. Sorry about using the video for "unintended purposes" but then you should be glad you are getting more audiences as a result of me.

Making this comment makes me think whether your Himalayan film is also a romantic one? I was one day watching it with a prospective lover and we kinda made out! tee hee hee

Hilath,

Swell. And I'm no 'Closet Titanic Fan'. Nope, not me. After seeing a heart-rending re-creation on a boat 4 years ago of the moment Kate cut's Leo loose to the water, there's no way I'd see this. I just don't think the real thing can live up to the fiction!

hey sharif, i've been talking to your associate who says the lovingly-filmed male in your documentary is all your doing, what's more he had to film the guy twice because you wanted a shot of him walking...moreover he denies the ownership of any cuddly crab...

Ha ha, Shaaxu, finally you admited your closeted Titanic lover thing. I am glad you were brave enough to admit it. And I am glad that I can now die happily if we were ever to freeze together. I say this, because I know you can let me go...into the icy dark water. Martin, are you already sobbing?

hey shaaxu do you think you could take martin for a dive when he comes here? he's seen a lot of the maldives, more in fact than many maldivians i know, but never really the undersea beauty that people rave about...oh and don't let go of his hand once you two are down below! come to think of it, a lot of the posters here haven't dived, not even hilath, so shaaxu perhaps you could take all of them to your resort and introduce them to the best that the maldives has to offer...

Hilath,
I'm in tears here, I really am.
And sure, why not go diving? It's possibly going to be the nearest I'm going to get this decade to being an Astronaut so yeah, why not? If possible I'll do it. AL, thanks for the encouragement!

Well, I am not sure which is better, surfing or diving, because both offer different experiences. I would recommend both to Martin and Shanu. But hanging out at Raalhugandu would be cool even if you don't surf or dive or snorkel. Dho, Shaaxu?
